Barnet produced arguably their best all-round performance under Darren Currie last night to claim a superb 4-0 victory at AFC Fylde and move back into the play-off zone.

Goals from Ricardo Santos, Simeon Akinola, Josh Walker and Mauro Vilhete propelled the Bees to their biggest victory of the season and up to fifth in the National League table, six points behind leaders Bromley.

The visitors got off to the ideal start after nine minutes when Santos turned from a corner and impressively curled the opener into the top corner.

Barnet remained on the front foot for the rest of the first half, with Ephron Mason-Clark, Vilhete and Walker all denied by in-form Coasters goalkeeper Dan Lavercombe, while Jack Taylor struck the crossbar from a free-kick.

It was from another Taylor set-piece though, that the visitors doubled their advantage five minutes after the restart when his delivery was headed home by Akinola.

Two became three when Taylor and Akinola combined on the counter-attack to find Walker and he turned in the penalty area before firing home.

Barnet had not scored four goals away from home since September 2017, but that changed in the 66th minute when Vilhete weaved his way through the Fylde defence before before finding the top corner from a tight angle.

Currie's side face another big game on Saturday when they make the short trip to a Dagenham & Redbridge side sitting just one place below them in the table.
