Hendon have announced the appointment of Lee Allinson as their new manager after Jimmy Gray left the post by mutual consent.

Allinson joins the Greens from Southern League Premier Central side Biggleswade Town, who he guided to sixth in the table and just five points off top spot.

The former St Albans City assistant manager now faces an uphill task in guiding Hendon out of trouble as they currently sit in 21st position in the Southern League Premier South with only two league wins this season.

Hendon released a statement on their website which said: “Further details regarding his back-room staff will be available on the website shortly but we hope that you will all offer your support to Lee, his staff and the playing squad as they attempt to turn our season around.”

Allinson expressed his excitement at his new challenge on his Twitter account. He said: “Delighted to be at Hendon Football Club. Great football club with a great history can’t wait to get going tonight. Whirlwind couple of days but time to move on and excited for the challenge.”

Hendon have confirmed that Allinson will be in the dugout for tonight's league game at Farnborough.
