Hendon advanced to the fourth round of the CSS League Challenge Cup after a goal in each half secured a 2-0 win away at AFC Dunstable on Tuesday.
Kingsley Eshun and Shaun Lucien got the vital goals which sealed the Greens’ passage into the next round.
Hendon dominated from the off against their Southern League Premier Division Central opponents and took the lead in the 38th minute through Eshun’s finish.
Dunstable made attempts to get forward throughout the half, but they proved to be unsuccessful as Hendon held firm and took their lead into the break.
It took until midway through the second period, but the Dons doubled their advantage and effectively sealed their passage when Lucien’s screamer flew into the top corner on 67 minutes.
That was how it stayed until the end, and Hendon can now take some confidence into their Southern League Premier Division South game at home to Merthyr Town.
