Barnet came from behind to thrash Maidenhead United 4-1 on Saturday and record their third successive National League win.

After the hosts had gone ahead through Josh Kelly, Simeon Akinola and David Tutonda had the Bees in front at the break, and then Cheye Alexander and a second for Akinola wrapped things up.

Maidenhead, who had won two of their previous three games before this one, went ahead after 27 minutes when Kelly got clear and slotted past Scott Loach.

The lead didn’t last long though as, just four minutes later, Ryan Upward handled James Dunne’s shot in the area and Akinola made no mistake from the penalty spot.

Two minutes before half time, Barnet turned the game on its head as Akinola turned provider for Tutonda, who provided a clinical finish into the bottom corner.

Within minutes of the second half starting, Darren Currie’s side put the game to bed when a swift counter attack was well finished by Alexander.

There was time for a fourth to top things off, Akinola getting on the end of another fast breakaway.

Next up for the Bees is the home derby against Boreham Wood on Boxing Day, kicking off at 3.00pm.
