Barnet’s three-game winning run was ended on Saturday after they were held to a goalless draw away at Aldershot Town.

The Bees came into game having had an extra day’s rest after the postponement of their Boxing Day derby against Boreham Wood, but they were unable to find the win that would have seen them break into the National League play-off spots.

Jack Taylor came close early on for the Bees while Mitch Walker also did well to keep out Simeon Akinola’s header.

Darren Currie’s side had the better chances of the second half too, but Aldershot’s resilience in defence saw the game pan out into a drab draw.

The result coupled with Dover Athletic’s win away at Ebbsfleet United sees Barnet drop a place to 12th, three points off the play-off spots ahead of their first game of 2020 on New Year’s Day away at Boreham Wood.
