Hendon succumbed to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Southern League Premier Division South leaders Truro City at Silver Jubilee Park on Saturday afternoon.

Winger Shaun Lucien cancelled out the visitors' lead, which they took through an own-goal by Jonathan North after 30 minutes.

However, the league leaders simply had too much for Hendon and scored a hat-trick of goals in the second-half. Hendon managed to withstand their onslaught until the 67th minute before their wheels started to come off.

Harlain Mbayo netted his goal either side of Will Swan's brace to make it 4-1 on the day.

It was pretty much one-way traffic with Hendon struggling to exert their influence on the game due to Truro’s technical superiority.

Despite the defeat, Hendon still have a 10-point advantage over Walton Casuals in 20th place while Truro strengthened their case for promotion after leapfrogging Chesham United at the top but with two games in hand over their rivals.

It was Hendon's second defeat on the trot after suffering a 2-0 defeat at Salisbury a week earlier.

They come up against Taunton Town on Wednesday as they look to bounce back following a poor run of results of late.
