Hendon picked up a point on their travels after a 1-1 draw away at third-bottom Walton Casuals.

Joe White had the visitors in front at the break only for Jerson dos Santos to level for Casuals midway through the second half.

Kieron Forbes and Liam Brooks came into the side in place of Joe Howe and Luca Allinson, and they were joined on the bench by new signing Alfie Bonfield.

Despite the long away trip to Taunton Town just a few evenings previously, Hendon started quickly and almost took the lead when White was set up by Shaun Lucien, but his effort bounced off the foot of the post.

White made amends after half an hour, though, as he was the quickest to react to Percy Kiangebeni’s saved effort and finished from inside the six-yard box.

Walton came close to an equaliser a minute into the second half when Kyen Thomas beat Jonathan North but saw the shot come back off the woodwork.

The home side levelled when a through ball found dos Santos and he knocked the ball past the on-rushing North.

There was a scare for Hendon late on when it looked as though Walton had scrambled home a late winner, but the damage instead was done to goalkeeper North, who was helped off after injuring himself in the scramble.

The point leaves Hendon 14th in the Southern League Premier Division South table ahead of this weekend’s visit to Beaconsfield Town.
