A Brentford player involved in a friendly game with Hendon on Monday night has tested positive for Covid-19.
A statement from Brentford revealed the positive test and the player's involvement in the match.
It reads: "Brentford Football Club can confirm that a player has tested positive for Covid-19. The player involved will not be named, but reported symptoms yesterday, Tuesday 15 September. He will now self-isolate in line with government guidance.
The player concerned was involved in our B Team fixture against Hendon in the London Senior Cup Final on Monday, 14 September. All players and staff that have come into close contact with the player shall also undergo a period of self-isolation.
Brentford B were due to play Boreham Wood on Saturday, 19 September. This game has been called off. Further details regarding a return to matches for Neil MacFarlane’s side will be announced in due course."
