Barnet might not have much more to play for, but their final three games of the season could prove to be the most important for a number of their players.

The scouts have another 270 minutes to view the likes of Albert Adomah and Jason Puncheon, two Bees linked with a summer move to pastures new.

In contrast, a number of fringe players will be hoping to get the chance to impress manager Paul Fairclough enough to earn a new contract.

The scouts were in abundance at Spotland on Tuesday night. Adomah had one of his quieter games, though Puncheon showed glimpses that he was getting back to the sort of form that earned him rave reviews earlier in the season.

Joe Devera, who missed the 3-0 defeat at Rochdale through injury, is another player being watched by higher-league clubs.

Fairclough said that he was confident of keeping Adomah, who has attracted interest from a number of Premier League sides, including Spurs, Man City, West Ham, Bolton and Sunderland, not to mention a clutch of Championship outfits.

Though he was under no obligation to sell, Fairclough did admit that he would listen to good offers.

Fairclough said: "His future lies in the Premier League and clubs are already looking at him. There's not a more exciting player in the league at the moment."

Adomah signed from Harrow Borough at the beginning of the year, where ex-Bee David Howell is the manager.

He agreed with Fairclough.

"I have no doubt Albert is a Premier League player, no doubt whatsoever."
