It fell to young George Olive to finally end Finchley Racing's win drought.
He won the 10-mile scratch race at the first Welwyn Track meeting of the season, with current 10-mile champion Trevor Burke backing him up in third place.
Olive timed his effort to perfection, jumping away in the back straight, and holding off the entire field. Elsewhere, Nick Faint gained two third places on consecutive nights at the Hillingdon Race circuit, while Simon Hime was fourth at the Welwyn Wheelers Road Race on Sunday.
