PAUL Fairclough is in charge for Barnet FC's final two games, following Ian Hendon's dismissal from the post.
Chairman Tony Kleanthous decided he had seen enough after Barnet slipped to a 1-0 away defeat against Accrington Stanley last night.
Hendon was told after he had arrived home in the small hours of this morning (Wenesday).
Hendon is the first manager who Kleanthous has sacked in 16 years.
The unprecedented move to eject Hendon was sparked by a torrid run of results, which has left Barnet in need of a point at Grimsby this Saturday to secure League Two survival.
Kleanthous said in a statement that he takes responsibility for failing to act sooner in a bid to arrest Barnet's slide down the table.
"I have supported Ian throughout and have given him every chance. I take every responsibility for appointing him and perhaps for not taking action sooner".
