Hendon Under-18s made their debut in the Lucas Fettes Youth Cup (the Isthmian League Youth Cup) last week with a second round trip to Barnet (Amber), one of two teams from the npower League Two club to play in the Ryman youth League, and it was a winning start for Hendon in a close game at the Middlesex Stadium.

Hendon made a fantastic start, scoring through Bradley AMBROSE in the third minute, and it seemed as if it would be enough, until Ifeyani ALLEN levelled things with around ten minutes remaining.

But, having all but won the game in normal time, Hendon made no mistake in the extra 30 minutes.

AMBROSE scored his second of the night and the defence held on for the victory.

“We had to grind out the win,” said assistant manager Jason Fevrier, “but the important thing was to get the win and I am delighted we got through.”
