Finchley Racing promoted their first ever time trial race on Saturday.
The race for teams of two riders took place near Biggleswade. Finchley's 'Dynamic Duo' of Trevor Burke and Nigel Stephens were strongly fancied for the win but their challenge ended after only seven miles when Burke punctured.
Stephens continued alone to post the second fastest time overall and the race was won by Jonathan Shubert and Adam French.
On Sunday's 'Ciclos Uno' road race in Essex, Burke was doubly unlucky to puncture yet again, on the opening lap.
Finchley's Steve Wharton bridged the gap to the leaders on the last lap, but paid for his efforts in the final sprint, finishing fifth, supported by Nick Faint in eighth.
Punctures continued in the Ipswich road race, with Lee Rowe and Nigel Stephens being the victims, although the former fought back to finish ninth, with Vince Divine in 13th place.
