Barnet have confirmed the departure of head coach Darren Currie, ahead of the upcoming 2020/21 season.

After guiding the Bees into the semi-final of the National League play-offs this season, Currie was unable to guide them back into the football league, with Notts County halting their progress.

Assistant coach Junior Lewis has also left the club.

A brief statement on the Bees website reads: "Barnet Football Club can today (12th August) announce that Head Coach Darren Currie and Assistant Coach Junior Lewis have left the Club.

"Barnet Football Club would like to put on record our thanks to both Darren and Junior for their efforts and hard work during their time with the Club."

Currie had been in charge at the Hive since 2018, his first full-time managerial position, after taking charge of Dagenham & Redbridge in a caretaker role back in 2015.

During his playing days he made 141 appearances for Barnet, scoring 22 times.
