Neighbours in Baxendale celebrate the Whetstone street's 50th anniversary
Party fever gripped neighbours as they celebrated their street's 50th anniversary.
Baxendale, in Whetstone, celebrated its milestone anniversary with street party.
There was cake all around as neighbours new and old enjoyed music, entertainment and cake.
The street owes its origins to Joseph Baxendale, who made his money in the horse and cart business before building a house known as Woodside.
Now known as Barnet House, it was turned into a botanic garden and a retirement home for women.
The rest of the houses in the street were built in 1964 after the trustees of the house decided they needed a new building.
