It is not quite the silver lining to a rain cloud – but the sun created this colourful double rainbow.

After the summer sunshine vanished from our skies, the changeable weather brought the stunning double arc to the sky over Edgware yesterday evening.

Michael Abrahams captured the phenomenon in Edgwarebury Lane, while Jim Wright took a shot of it in Pickett Croft with his iPhone.

The autumnal weather is set to continue this week with cloudy skies and top temperatures of 16c today. There will be more rain clouds followed by grey, cloudy skies on Friday.
