George Jones
George Jones Was a dedicated campaigner to make life better in Barnet. Over many decades he lived in Hendon and Mill Hill, promoted disability sport at Copthall, fundraised to restore the historic St Paul's church and campaigned to make Mill Hill Broadway station step-free. He will be remembered for his watch repair and jewellery shop on Burnt Oak High Street and also as the driver of the Rotary Club's Thomas the Tank Engine Train (a converted milk float) that fundraised with Santa around the streets of Mill Hill at Christmas. Most of all he will be remembered as a beloved husband to Paula, a kind father to his daughters and a fun grandfather and great-grandfather. He died peacefully surrounded by loved ones after a short illness. A truly good, warm and funny person with a rich and interesting life who will be greatly missed by many friends, family, neighbours and the congregation at St Paul's Mill Hill. It was nice to see you George, to see you nice.
