A few years ago I attended a Neighbourhood Watch meeting at Norrice Lea Synagogue, in Hampstead Garden Suburb, and a woman raised the concern of people rummaging through bins looking for personal details.
She was laughed out of court' and the senior policeman present told her in no uncertain terms that such things do not happen in the suburb.
I do hope that policeman hangs his head in shame when it is reported that Barnet is number seven in a table of national ID fraud hotspots (Borough at high risk of ID fraud', October 26).
