Firefighters tackled a huge blaze in a house in The Bishop's Avenue, Finchley over the weekend.

The £2.8million home of a wealthy Russian couple was gutted by the fire.

The blaze broke out in the first-floor of the six-bedroom mansion early on Sunday morning.

Eight crews attended the scene where 40 firefighters took just over two hours to get the fire under control.

As firefighters continued to battle the blaze the roof caved in.

The house is owned by Iouri and Natalia Chliaifchtein who were the victims of a £2million burglary six years ago.

Also known as 'Millionaires' Row' current average house prices in The Bishop's Avenue are just short of £6million.
