A TEENAGER who died last week after falling from a building in Wanstead has been described as a “lad” by his friends.

Alfie Perrin, 16, of Enfield, died after falling from the two-storey house in Camden Road on Wednesday at approximately 3pm.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, but later died of head injuries.

An inquest has opened and adjourned into his death, which is being treated as unexplained.

Work had been going on at the house, and a neighbour said he believed Alfie was part of a team of builders working on a loft extension.

Tributes to the teenager are flooding in on Twitter, with one user writing: “What a lad, stayed true to who he is.. always looked out for his boys.”

Another posted: “R.I.P Alfie Perrin, will always remember our memories, you were a brother! Sleep tight up there son.....”

His death comes just five days after three Enfield teenagers – Harry Ferrand, 17, Jack Boyton, 17, and Ashley Jones, 19, died in a car crash on A10 near Hoddesdon.

One user wrote: “This has been a sad week for young boys in Enfield, RIP Alfie Perrin my thoughts go out to family and those close to him.”

A joint investigation into the incident is being run with the Health and Safety Executive.

The work was being carried out by Rooftop Rooms, a company based in Enfield which specialises in loft conversion. They refused to comment on the incident.
