Fashion students saw their designs modelled alongside those of some of the UK’s top designers last weekend.

Barnet and Southgate College pupils visited the Clothes Show Live 2012 in Birmingham on Friday and Saturday where their designs hit the catwalk in front of more than 200,000 people.

Principal of the college, David Byrne, said: “Our Foundation Degree fashion students have been exhibiting their work at the Clothes Show Live for the past ten years.

"It’s such a fantastic opportunity for them to see their innovative fashion creations modelled by professionals on the catwalk and at the same time be able to network with some of the UK’s top fashion designers.”

Their work will also be shown in a catwalk show today and tomorrow.

The annual event, which runs until Tuesday December 11, was attended by a number of celebrities including boy band JLS, fashion model Daisy Lowe and TV stars from The Only Way is Essex.

Students also manned a stand to tell people about fashion and design courses at Barnet and Southgate College.
