North Finchley’s Ashin-do Kai Karate squad
A team of karate kids are celebrating after putting in a winning performance at the English championships.
North Finchley’s Ashin-do Kai Karate squad showed off their martial arts skills in a variety of categories at the English Karate Federation’s contest.
Schoolgirl Devini Patel won gold for her kata sequence, demonstrating both attack and defence moves.
Navin Patel, Julien Bilbao and Kieran Nunkoo also teamed up to perform a kata sequence that earned them a gold medal.
A group of seven-year-olds got through four rounds and just missed out on the semi-finals, but rising to the challenge, the juniors won bronze in team fighting.
