The London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden is part of a group of four Labour politicians calling for investment on an overcrowded rail line.
Andrew Dismore asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne to provide funding for the electrification of the Barking to Gospel Oak rail line in the June infrastructure investment plan.
The money will ease overcrowding, improve the air quality and develop a national freight route.
He was joined by fellow assembly members Jennette Arnold, Joanne McCartney and John Biggs whose areas are also served by the line.
