Smokers taking part in a national stop-smoking campaign this month can sign up for free help and advice at a new community hospital.
Figures show that 17.5 per cent of the borough’s adult population currently smokes, a number advocates of Stoptober are looking to reduce.
The campaign encourages smokers to give up for 28 days during the month of October, which organisers say can make people five times more likely to stop altogether.
People can find stop-smoking services via the Stoptober website, their GP, or the Edgware Community Hospital.
