Well don TfL... anything that stops people drink driving is a good thing, far too many empoyers allow their office staff to visit the pub at lunchtimes who then return to work for a couple of hours and then drive home in their cars over the drink drive limit, putting other road users in danger.

It was amusing to see on the Watford-St Albans line a poster stating free travel after 23:45, last train 21:31 from Watford.

Well the Vodafone sponsorship for the Free Travel is intended to cover the Greater London Area. Blame London Midland trains for the poster on their station. However London Midland do report good news for some:
......."To allow people to watch the New Year celebrations in London, the 0004 and 0134 departures from Euston will be retimed to 0105hrs and 0200hrs".

This is such a scam!

On my way to the fireworks I have paid the maximum fare of 4,90 instead of 2,10 because TFL staff would not allow me to check out at Embankment. Admitted, it was very busy but I even asked them if I had to check out with my Oystercard, and they told me "No, goooo!"

On my way home, the bus driver (N15) had everyone check in, and I did because I thought it was necessary for statistical/organisa
tional reasons, but that I would not be charged. Obviously, I paid my 1,40.

So, for a value of 2,10, I ended up paying exactly three times more: 6,30.
What free travel???

Nice gesture, but it really has caused more dissatisfaction than anything else.
