A church will host a fairtrade Big Brew event to support some of the world's poorest communities.

St Margaret's Church in Station Road, Edgware, will serve free teas and coffees from 12pm to 4pm in support of Fairtrade Fortnight on Saturday, March 1.

There will also be other fairtrade treats on offer including banana milkshakes, as well as arts and crafts, quizzes, competitions and children’s activities.

Donations will be collected in aid of The Fairtrade Foundation which was founded in 1992 to introduce better prices, working conditions, sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.

Vanessa Bergman, who is helping organise the event, said: “Come along to the Big Brew and help support farmers and workers in developing countries. Gather up your family, friends and neighbours and come along on the day to have some fun, enjoy sampling some delicious fairtrade teas and support a worthy cause at the same time.”
