There will be a day of celebration to mark 100 years of a bus service chugging through Edgware's streets.
The London bus route 142 has run continuously between Watford Junction and Kilburn, and in later years Brent Cross Shopping Centre, for a century.
It was launched by the London General Omnibus Company in March, 1914, and a series of celebrations will be held on Sunday March 30.
On the day of the celebration, free additional services will run using vintage and classic London buses over the 142 and 158 (Watford to Harrow) routes together with services over the old London Transport "green" routes 302, 306, 311, 345, 346, 346D School Special and 347.
Services will operate at frequent intervals from 10.03am until 5.17pm.
This event is organised by the Amersham & District Motorbus Society in conjunction with Transport for London and Arriva the Shires.
Programmes giving full details and timetables are available for £6.50 (£7 on the day at Watford Junction) from Peter Cartwright, 54 Guinions Road, High Wycombe HP13 7NX (cheques payable to Amersham & District Motorbus Society) or visit www.amershammotorbussociety.co.uk
