The owners of a restaurant in Whetstone are enjoying the sweet taste of success after being crowned winners of the Times Series Restaurant of the Year.

Usman Ghani and his brother Miah have owned Bayleaf since it opened in 1995 and were presented with the award after being judged the best place to eat in the area.

Last year the restaurant, in High Road, won the Best South Asian Takeaway award from the Federation of Bangladeshi Caterers and the Asian Catering Federation.

Usman said: “We are so pleased to win this fantastic award. We would like to thank all our customers for supporting us, we would not have been able to win this award without them.”
