An 80-year-old woman’s purse was stolen from the back seat of her car after she was stopped and asked for directions.
The woman had parked her car on a driveway in The Walk, Potters Bar, at 3pm on Monday, August 4, when a man standing nearby and holding a map asked her to help him find his way.
As she was being distracted, a second man approached her car and took a purse from her bag which she had left on the back seat.
The two suspects headed towards High Street, where £250 was withdrawn from her bank account.
At around 12pm on the same day, the same man had approached the victim asking for directions to the car park of the Robin Hood Pub, in Enfield – but she had ignored him.
Anyone with information should police on 101.
