Fashionistas sampled the latest trends at a charity event to raise money for two charities.

Clothing label Averyl took their autumn and winter collection to the catwalk at The Avenue, Golders Green, in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society and Jewish Care.

The event, which was attended by former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips and TV presenter and broadcaster Fiona Phillips, raised £14,000 for the causes.

After the show, Arlene Phillips said: “I know from experience how important it is to have information about dementia, as well as the kind of practical and emotional support provided by Alzheimer’s Society.

“The amazing work that these two brilliant charities are doing is life-changing for so many people.”

Organised by the Alzheimer’s Disease Golf Society, the show was also attended by Morella Kaman, the chairman of the Alzheimer’s Society.

She signed copies of her book, A Life to Remember, the foreword of which was written by Fiona Phillips.

Fiona Phillips said: “I was honoured to write the foreword for Morella Kayman’s new autobiography. “Morella Kayman’s campaigning has changed the way that we see dementia, and the Alzheimer’s Society and Jewish Care now support thousands of people each week so that they do not have to face it alone.”
