An iconic plane from the First World War will feature in a new exhibition.
Made famous by the fictional hero Biggles, the Sopwith Camel biplane will feature in the First World War in the Air exhibition at the RAF Museum, in Grahame Park Way, Colindale, which opens in December.
The plane, which was given to the museum in 2002, was suspended in the air yesterday in the museum’s Grahame White Factory, which will host the exhibition.
The museum received a grant of £898,558 from the Heritage Lottery Fund earlier this year to create the project.
