A wide array of vegetables was on offer at a children’s gardening competition.
The Young Gardeners competition, now in its fourth year, was held at Sunnyfields School, in Greyhound Hill, Hendon, last Thursday.
Pupils displayed their home grown vegetables and produce, which included pumpkins, courgettes, raspberries, chutney and more.
A total of 12 schools from across the borough took part, including Sacred Heart, London Academy and St Mary’s and St John’s schools.
Hampstead Garden Suburb School, in Childs Way, was chosen as the winner.
The competition was judged by Philip Coleman, of Finchley Nurseries, John Gaunt, of Hendon Horticultural Society, and Sally Harwood, of Finchley Nursery.
Mayor of Barnet Councillor Hugh Rayner presented the award.
