A supermarket will play a small part in the history of green transport in the UK.
Sainsbury’s has announced it will launch the UK's first hydrogen dispenser at its Hendon store's filling station in Hyde Estate Road, by the end of the year.
The SmartFuel station will be part of the government-backed London Hydrogen Network Expansion, which aims to create the UK’s first hydrogen transport system.
Avishai Moor, fuel and kiosk category manager at Sainsbury’s, said: “Hydrogen vehicles are both environmentally friendly as well as efficient so we are really excited about being the first UK supermarket to trial this new technology and make it accessible to our customers.”
