A community group has been awarded official charity status.
Love Burnt Oak, which was launched in 2012 by Barnet Homes and the International Gospel Church, runs regular workshops to help people with employment and volunteering in the area.
Love Burnt Oak’s chairman, Paul Anderson-Walsh, said: “What began as a good idea has gained such momentum over the past 12 months that it's gone from a nice concept to being integral to the success of the social justice efforts in Burnt Oak. We hope that news LBO has become a charity will send a reassuring signal to the community that we are here to stay.”
The group, which held an official launch last October, works with a network of more than 20 partners, including Barnet and Southgate College.
