Firefighters were called to a residential street after reports of a potentially hazardous chemical leaking into a drain.
Barnet Police, firefighters and the London Ambulance Service were called to Petchworth Road, off Woodhouse Road, Finchley, at around 1.30pm this afternoon.
Firefighters wore protective clothing and breathing apparatus and two people were evacuated from the home after reports that a broken computer monitor was leaking a potentially toxic liquid.
No traces of any chemicals in the property and officers were found.
The road was closed for two hours but has since reopened.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
