Alcohol will be delivered by two pizza takeaways until 5am seven days a week, after plans to extend opening hours were approved.
The Pizza Hut takeaways, in High Road, East Finchley, and North End Road, Golders Green, will deliver food and alcohol from 10am until 5am seven days a week, after councillors approved plans at a licensing sub-committee meeting in Hendon Town Hall earlier this week.
The takeaways are currently open from 11.30am to 11pm Monday to Wednesday, and 11.30am to 12am Thursday to Sunday.
Concerns were raised by the Metropolitan Police about the ages of delivery drivers, and that delivering alcohol would make them a “far more attractive target”.
In response, councillors attached the condition that alcohol could only be delivered by drivers aged 21 and over.
Alcohol will also be sold only with food orders.
