Barnet’s ‘car crisis’ will be tackled at a conference.
A debate on how to tackle congestion and other car-related issues in Barnet will take place at Friern Barnet Community Library in Friern Barnet Road tomorrow from 2pm to 6pm.
Transport experts, campaigners and politicians will discuss the issue, and discussions will be used in a report to will be published after the event.
A M Poppy, the Green parliamentary candidate for Chipping Barnet who organised the conference, said: “Already our roads are in crisis. Parking has been the most poisonous issue in the borough, and traffic, cars, speeding and parking are the primary issue on Barnet’s mind.
"In the absence of official acknowledgement of the crisis I am kicking off this urgent debate.”
