Climbing Britain's highest mountain will be just the start when an team of electricians raises money for a hospice.
On June 20, eight staff from Thornton Electrical, in Dendridge Close, Enfield, will take on Ben Nevis as well as a 25 mile cycle through the Highlands before canoeing 3km on Loch Lochy.
The mammoth challenge will end with a ten-mile cycle back to the finish line as they bid to raise money for North London Hospice, based in Enfield and Barnet.
Stephen Stanyer, director of Thornton Electrical said “We enjoy new challenges and as we completed the London to Paris Bike ride last year for the North London Hospice we thought we could incorporate cycling, which is our first passion, with walking and canoeing to really test ourselves.
“We have most of our staff competing this challenge forming two teams, so you could call this a team building exercise too.
“We have cycled in Cambridgeshire and Potters Bar working on distance and hills. We have also walked up Mt Snowdonia acclimatising ourselves to the interchangeable weather conditions, the mountainous terrain on Snowdon can become challenging with steep gradients really working our leg muscles.
“We know it will be tough but we are really excited about this challenge.”
