It can often be quite a chore to get children to help around the house – but a proactive pair took it upon themselves to clear their park of litter.
Ruby and Asher Weissbart, who are six and eight, went to Basing Hill Park, in Child’s Hill, on Sunday to clear the rubbish and mess left behind.
The idea came about after the siblings became “upset” at the sight of litter in the area and became inspired to do something about it.
Their mother, Annabel Weissbart, 43, said: “I am so proud they have shown a sense of responsibility and pride in their local environment.
“They cleaned up the litter so everone can enjoy the park.”
The duo, who go to Sacks Morasha School in North Finchley, now hope to encourage others to think twice before littering.
