Two masked men threatened a Golders Green resident with handguns during a robbery on Monday.
The men entered the house, in West Heath Avenue, threatened the occupier and stole property at around 3pm. They escaped in a white van parked outside.
Acting Superintendent Lucy D'Orsi said: "Barnet police have liaised with local community leaders and we are satisfied at this stage that the motive for this incident was not anti-Semitism."
There are no further descriptions of the men or their van, but anyone with information can call Detective Constable Paul Crowther of Barnet Burglary Squad on 020 8733 4510.
