A WOMAN has been arrested for dangerous driving after a man died in a crash yesterday.
The woman, who was behind the wheel of a black VW Passatt, was driving along Colney Hatch Lane, near the North Circular, at 10.40am yesterday.
Police say a black Ford Fiesta broke down in one lane and driver of a red Hyundai Getz stopped to help.
But the Passat driver hit the Hyndai, which collided with the Fiesta, and an 80-year-old man died at the scene.
Another woman was taken to hospital for injuries and is in a serious but stable condition.
Wael Al-Qutub, 30, of Wood Green, saw the aftermath of the crash.
His friend, who was driving along Bounds Green Road, told him that there was an air ambulance on the road.
He said: “I went along to see what was going on and it was shocking.
“One of the cars looked like it had been hit with a really big impact from the back.
“Although the ambulance had left by the time I got there, the police were still there and a crime scene tent had been put up.”
