A teenage art fanatic is thrilled to have made it to the final of a national competition.
Jessica Butler, 14, of Barnet, is one of 10 finalists after presenting a 10 minute talk on art to as part of the ARTiculation public speaking event.
She said: “I love art so much and I can’t believe I’ve won through to the final of this amazing competition.
“I am extremely proud of my achievement and I feel privileged to be involved in such a wonderful event. I can’t wait for the final now and I am working hard on my presentation.”
The ARTiculation event is run by the Roche Court Educational Trust, and aims to engage young people in talking about art or architecture.
Jessica will compete against others for the winning spot at Leeds University on July 8 and will be judged by art enthusiast Lord Burlington. Jessica’s parents said they were both “so proud” of her achievements and were looking forward to her final presentation.
