A woman with a “prolific history” of anti-social behaviour has been banned from her local area and ordered not to associate with certain people.

Janelle James, of Great Strand, Colindale, was the first person in Colindale to be hit with a drug closure order following months of anti-social behaviour in November 2015.

Last July, her behaviour was found to have worsened and she was issued a criminal behaviour order (CBO) which banned her from the Grahame Park Estate and from associating with 20 named people.

Now, her CBO has been extended to cover Colindale, Edgware, Burnt Oak and Hendon – effectively banning her from all of these areas under threat of six months’ prison for a breach.

The order comes following Ms James’ eviction from her home by court order given to Colindale police and housing association Genesis yesterday (February 28).

PC Thomas Bolton, of Colindale police, said: “Ms James has a prolific history of coming to police notice.

“By working closely with Genesis we can ensure the residents of Colindale will no longer be subjected to her behaviour.

“As a police officer this is a frustrating case as we have tried numerous avenues to assist Ms James in turning her life around but have not succeeded.

“Personally, this has been relentless work for around 18 months and I am looking forward to now using the time to get out and serve the local community and spend my time on those who deserve it.”

Genesis thanked all involved parties for their work on the case, calling it a “great example of partnership”.
