Torah scrolls stolen from two Barnet rabbis have been found.

The scrolls were stolen from Rabbis Larry and Dr Jackie Tabick on March 22 from a house in Ashbourne Grove, Barnet.

Following an appeal the scrolls, which are said to be worth around £20,000, were found in bushes near Bentley Heath Cricket Club, Potters Bar, and picked up by Herts Police.

PC Louise Bates of Barnet CID said: It is fantastic that these scrolls have been found and returned to their owners, but our efforts to try and find the person who carried out the burglary continue.

Police have also described the suspect of the original break in as a white man, around 5ft 10ins in height and dressed in black with a scarf across his face.

Rabbi Larry posted a photo on Twitter and said: “Our scrolls are back! Blessed is the One who is good & does good!"
