Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 23-year-old pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a white BMW in the car park of the Great North Leisure Park, High Road, Finchley on Wednesday, May 31.

The man was flown to an east London hospital by the London Air Ambulance but was pronounced dead at 6pm on Thursday, June 1.

His next-of-kin have been told and a post-mortem examination is being carried out at Northwick Park Hospital Mortuary in Watford Road, Harrow.

The car was abandoned at the scene but the driver and passenger left heading towards Finchley High Road.

It is thought that the car was deliberately driven at the victim shortly after a fight involving a number of people in the car park.

Police are still looking for the BMW driver and anyone else who may have been involved in the incident.

There were no other injuries reported.

Two men, both 21, remain in custody at a north London police station.

Detective Inspector John Marriott is leading a team of detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC).

He said: "This horrific attack occurred in the midst of half-term and there would have been a number of people who would have been in the vicinity having enjoyed the facilities at the leisure centre.

"Our enquiries lead us to believe that a number of people may have filmed part or all of the attack; this is now a murder investigation and I would implore those that did film this incident to provide any footage they have.

“The information you hold could be key to establishing the full circumstances which led to this young man's death."
