MPs from around the Commonwealth have found issues around voting systems in their assessment of the 2017 general election.
The Election Assessment Mission spent a week assessing the election process in eight constituencies, including Hendon, and found issues around ballot secrecy and postal voting.
The mission includes 32 Commonwealth parliamentarians and election officials from 23 different countries and territories.
The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK arranged the missions as in 2015 and 2010 to oversee polling, vote counting and post-election complaints or appeals.
Head of Mission Sebastian Pillay MP, from Seychelles said: “Exercising the right to vote is a fundamental part of democracy.
“CPA UK’s Election Assessment Mission will seek to ensure the UK election process is legitimate and representative of the electorate.”
Mr Pillay also said that their role was not to compare the process to other countries or to judge, but to ensure the UK’s election process meets its own “standards” set by the country.
Mr Pillay will give further information on June 9 of recommendations for the Electoral Commission to take forward.
