A Hendon club will hold a fundraising event for charity this weekend.
The Old Hendon Ex-Servicemen's Club in Heriot Road, Hendon, will hold a family fun day on August 5 to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and local charity North London Hospice.
The event will feature a magic show from 2pm and a whole host of activities for parents in children to enjoy, including nail painting, tombola and a children's disco.
The event is partially in memory of two friends of organise Kevin Ganderton, John Otuedon and Terry Hutchinson, who both passed away from cancer last year.
Dee Bailey, who is part of the club, said: "We have a few families and member that have had this terrible illness, and have given so much for life, so we thought, 'Why not give something back to those families?'"
She added: "I have tried my best to do good work as I know cancer will affect more than three people we all know in our lifespan.
"It's about giving something back, especially to young children, the lost and needy, and people who eat alone at Christmas. "Our event day is opened to anyone and all are welcomed."
The event kicks off from midday at the club.
