A charity is hosting their 20th anniversary party.

Home-Start Barnet and Harrow is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a tea party on September 15, for families who have worked with the charity, staff and volunteers.

The charity provides emotional and practical help to parents with children under five, which includes visiting families, helping with chores or weekly shopping and doing activities with young children to give parents a well-earned break.

Chief executive Kirpal Dhadda said: "We are so proud to have been supporting families since 1997. The incredible growth in our services could not have happened without the dedication of our fantastic team of staff, volunteers, trustees and funders.

"It’s an honour to be a part of this wonderful organisation and I look forward to the next chapter of our work."

The charity also works with families who are isolated or suffering with ill mental and physical health, and helps vulnerable families integrate into society, working alongside with the NHS and local authority.

Home-Start Barnet and Harrow is also at work in the Grahame Park estate, offering parenting classes and other support to residents.

The event, taking place at Stephens House, 17 East End Road in Finchley and featuring food, entertainment and a special Bake Off competition, begins at 3.30pm.
