An MP has taken concerns over changes to a bus route to Transport for London.

Matthew Offord, MP for Hendon, met with residents of Greyhound Hill in Hendon to talk about the rerouting of the 125 bus.

Transport for London has put forward proposals to extend the 125 from Regents Park Road in Finchley along to Colindale station, which will continue down Church Road, Greyhound Hill and Aerodrome Road.

Mr Offord spoke to residents in the area who are concerned that the extended route will cause congestion on their road, along with increased emissions and pollution.

He said: "After speaking to residents it is clear that many people who live on Greyhound Hill are worried about the consequences of buses on their road.

"There are already existing bus routes which I believe could accommodate the extension of the 125 without having a detrimental effect on Greyhound Hill and Church End.

"I have written to TfL as a part of the consultation process, which I understand is now closed, and I hope they will give priority to the concerns of residents living along the proposed route."

Mr Offord wrote to TfL just as the consultation closed.

A TfL spokesman said: "We are consulting on a number of changes in the Colindale area, these include the extension and rerouteing of route 125 and the merging of routes 303 and 305.

"The consultation closed on November 12, we are currently reviewing the responses that we have received and will look to make a decision soon about how we would like to proceed. We will publish a report and our response to the issues raised as part of this process."
