A man was stabbed close to a pub during an attack in the early hours of Boxing Day.
Police were called to a site near the Warren Wood pub, in Epping New Road, Buckhurst Hill, shortly before 5am on December 26.
He suffered a stab wound to his leg and was taken to hospital. His injuries were not life threatening but required surgery.
An Essex Police spokesman said enquiries were ongoing, but detectives believed the attack was targeted.
